All set up on ArtFire

I'm all set up on ArtFire now. I think I'm going to just let everything on Etsy expire. I'll leave it up in case someone who hearted something wanted something for the holidays, but once everything expires I won't be using it anymore (except to buy the things from my faves that aren't available on ArtFire).

I've heard people on Etsy saying that they don't sell on ArtFire, and I'm fairly certain that for the most part it's because they don't do the research to figure out the differences in marketing on ArtFire and Etsy and they don't put as much work into their ArtFire shop. Frankly, there are so many tools there for promoting that if someone's not selling, they're probably missing something important.

If Etsy was a landlord, I wouldn't have put up with him for as long as I have because he'd be the kind that blames the tenants for everything, never gets anything done and only cares about collecting the rent (and you're lucky if you can get a hold of him unless the rent is due). If ArtFire was a landlord, he'd be the helpful kind that is fully understanding of his tenants' needs and will do anything to make them more comfortable... as long as they return the favor by paying on time and not being asses.

I didn't see any reason to put up with a bad landlord in the brick-and-mortar world, and I don't see any reason to put up with one online either.

  2. Hi Lauren,

I tried Art Fire and I do think that it has some really neat features, but that fact that it takes so much steps to list one's items made me give up for now.
I don't even have much patience to list on Etsy :-)
For those who aren't aware, there's also ArtByUs.

    Kind regards,

    José

  3. I don't find it takes any longer to list on AF than Etsy, but that's just me. I've been hearing a lot of people say that it looks complicated to list, and I agree, but if you just take it one step at a time it doesn't end up being any worse than on Etsy.

Thanks for letting me know about ArtByUs, I'll check it out.
